 | - Meditation and training the mind - it can almost be addictive.
Wouldn't it be wonderful if you defeated the mind of attachment, as this is the root of all the problems your body and mind experience. All your worries, your depression, everything comes from that. Until you do recognize that, even though you might occasionally have an hour's good concentration, it never lasts. If, however, you do see the psychological origin of your problems and understand the nature of attachment and how it works to cause aggression, desire and hatred, your mind becomes very powerful. We Westerners always have to blame something external when things go wrong. "I'm not happy, so I'd better change this." We're always trying to change the world around us instead of recognizing that it's our own attachment that we have to change. What if you discovered nothing external truly made you happy, what if you discovered a happiness and contentment from within that only got better. - Walking Meditation - This has got to be my favourite. I first discovered it walking around IBM in Havant. One lunch time leaving the main building and walking thru the fields and the meadows. How weird it was to be able to expand your consciousness, to energize yourself to feel apart of all things. This is where Ki-Akido had spin-off benefits. This greatly enhanced your energy levels and sense of well being.
- Creative Visualization - This is really just a tool that I developed as a kid. I could create vivid detail in my mind eye.
- Bodhisattva - Bodhisattva is the intoxicant that numbs us against pain and fills us with bliss, its the alchemy that transforms every action into benefit for others, its is the cloud that carries the rain of positive energy to nourish growing things. Bodhisattva is not doctrine. It is a state of mind. This inner experience is completely individual.
Now I could take about Bliss Elevation in the SM scene, but there are other kinds that last longer. Imagine being happy all the time, imagine moments of utter bliss, like a rush. For me the nearest is as if someone threw a bucket of cold water over me, the surprise, the saturation, how it occupies your attention from the moment of impact. But instead of it being cold water, imagine Bliss, Happiness and Euphoria. Its weird - initially it seems that thru meditation you have to discover it, but when you want some, you just remember it. - It seems that the movie "The Matrix/Ghosts in the Machine" is so close to reality. Like when are we going to wake from the dream or if we remain dreaming, should we not take control of this dream and make it into the 'reality' of our choosing?
My Goals- To be like my spiritual teacher, even if I was only half as good that would be nice.
- To be a good Master to my slaves and see them develop in as many dimensions as possible. To free them from their separation of happiness or any addictions or bad mind states - although I wish that for everyone.
- Of course I have attachment to the Doghouse - but I have different motivations now, how can I make it even better, and give even more to you.
